PARENT HELPERS

CLASSROOM HELPERS

We value and appreciate classroom helpers. Parents, grandparents, other family members and friends can assist with classroom activities, such as with the Literacy and Numeracy program, listening to the children read and teaching them particular skills. We consider classroom helpers an integral part of a child’s education. It is a legal requirement for helpers to have a Working with Children Check. Please see the office staff for details.

PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION

St John’s has an active Fundraising Committee. Many events are organized during the year, with a social as well as a fundraising purpose. Fundraising assists the school to give our children the best resources and opportunities in education. Events can be a Trivia Night, raffles, free dress days, sausage sizzles or Mothers and Fathers day stalls.

HOSPITALITY REPS

Our Hospitality Representatives liaise with the classroom teachers to help with such things as class excursions, sausage sizzles, and special events in the classrooms. They meet with the Principal at the start of each term to discuss up coming events.

WORKING BEES

Once a term the school holds a working bee to continuously improve our schools grounds and facilities.
